Module 2 · Do the work
Write the AI-use note
State where AI helped and what you verified.
One page. The point is not to prove you used AI, and not to prove you avoided it. The point is to show the checking step, because that is the part an employer cannot see.
Cover four things per use
- What you asked the tool to do.
- What it produced, in one line.
- What you verified, and how — the specific check, not 'I reviewed it'.
- What you changed or rejected, and why.
"Asked a chat tool to suggest plain-language names for the CRM stages. It returned eight; three were misleading because they implied a commitment the stage does not represent. I checked each against the handover notes' stage definitions and kept five, rewrote two myself and dropped one. I did not let the tool touch the amounts or the dates."
Never paste client or candidate data into a third-party tool. If a use would require that, say you did not do it and explain what you did instead.
Assignment brief
Document your AI use across the capstone week.
What to hand in
- One page covering each AI use with ask, output, verification and changes
- An explicit statement of what you did not give the tool, and why
What the reviewer looks for
- Verification steps are specific and repeatable
- At least one instance where you rejected or corrected the output
- No confidential or personal data was exposed to a third-party tool
- Honest about limits rather than performing thoroughness
